Yellowstone Visits Down, Grand Teton Up
Recreational visitation to Yellowstone National Park saw a 4.2% drop during January according to the monthly report released by the National Park Service Public Use Statistics Office. According to that report, 24,517 recreationists entered the park during the month compared with 25,595 the year before. That decrease in numbers was primarily seen through the park’s north entrance and follows a 4% decline during December. Meanwhile, Grand Teton National Park reports an increase of more than 6% during the same month with nearly 2500 more people visiting the park last month than the same month a year ago. That comes on the heels of a 4% increase in visitation the month before.
