Speed Limit Drops On Highway 22
Jackson Hole Residents have already experienced periods of slippery roads after the first snows of the season, but tomorrow is the day the seasonal speed limit on Wyoming Highway 22 is dropped until spring. Wyoming Highway Patrol Lieutenant Tom Kelly saysit drops to 45 mph from November 15th through April first. That, he says coincides with the seasonal trailer restriction on Teton Pass where during the period no trailers are permitted regardless of what the weather and road conditions are. Kelly explains the speed change is due to the winter driving conditions and the increase in migratory animals along the route. Kelly also reminds motorists that the speed limit along Highway 390 also has a reduced night-time speed by 10 mph from the daytime speed due to the amount of wildlife that is in the area.
