Airport Stats Show Continued Decline
Jackson Hole Airport last month posted an increase in the number of passengers catching flights out of the valley, but still saw a slight decline in the number of those arriving. According to the monthly report to the airport board, about 12,800 caught flights here during October for a 7% increase over the same month in 2011, but only 10,000 arrived leading to a 1% decrease in passengers. The count continues a slow decline in passengers in and out of the valley seen over the past few years. Meanwhile, the number of flights available to air travelers in Jackson Hole increased by 6% with service from Delta, Skywest, United, and Republic during the month. The number of airlines serving the valley will increase once again to five this winter with service to nine major destinations nationwide.
