JHHS Nominated As Blue Ribbon School
Jackson Hole High School has been nominated for the distinction of being a 2013 National Blue Ribbon School. This is an award that sets a standard of excellence for all schools striving for the highest level of achievement. Each year since 1982, the U.S. Department of Education has sought schools where students attain and maintain high academic goals. Using standards of excellence evidenced by student achievement measures and the characteristics known from research to exemplify school quality, which includes not only academics, but the general atmosphere of the schools created by students and faculty. Only three schools per year in Wyoming receive this nomination. Jackson Hole High School has been nominated for achieving very high levels — an honor that very few schools receive. In fact, Jackson Hole High school previously received the distinction during the 1986-87 school-year and again in the 1992-93 school-year. The announcement of which of the nominated schools are selected will be made next September.
