Additional Ice Eyed For Sports & Events Center
Center Management, Inc., the non-profit operator of the Snow King Sports and Events Center, yesterday announced plans to expand the Center with new conference facilities and a second sheet of ice. The expansion would be funded by a $1.5 million WBC grant and matching funds raised by CMI from the community. CMI says it will seek Town support for its March 1st application to WBC for this project. In putting together the plan, CMI has held discussions with the Jackson Hole Ski and Snowboard Club, Jackson Youth Hockey, Peak Performance Skating Academy, Grand Teton Skating Academy, Town of Jackson officials, Snow King Mountain Recreation partners and Wyoming Business Council representatives. CMI officials say although the expansion plans are still in their early stages, they are moving forward with a WBC application and further dialogue with state officials.
