Special Olympians Prepare For Winter Games

Special Olympics athletes Mona Sobieski & Alex Moreno returned from the Special Olympics Team USA training camp in Lake Placid, New York Friday.  Mona and Alex have been training at the camp, prior to their participation in the Special Olympics 2013 Special Olympics World Winter Games in South Korea. The Games are set for January 29th through February 5th. Special Olympics Team USA is comprised of 151 athletes, 44 coaches, four medical personnel, and management team members from throughout the United States. Athletes will compete in seven Olympic-type sports: alpine skiing, cross country skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, short track speed skating, figure skating, floor hockey and the demonstration sport of floor ball.  Both Sobieski and Moreno will compete in Alpine Skiing while in South Korea at the same site where the 2018 Winter Olympics will be held.
