Two members of the newly-formed Jackson Hole High School Jazz Band have been selected for All-State honors. For the second consecutive year, junior guitarist Michael Scalabrino was chosen to perform with the Wyoming All-State Jazz Band. Also representing Jackson Hole High School is senior bass player Jack Keckler, who was selected to perform in the rhythm section for the Wyoming All-State Jazz Choir.  Michael and Jack are the only guitarist and bass player from the state who were chosen for their respective All-State ensembles. This is especially distinctive as this is the first year in many years that Jackson Hole High School has had a jazz band program. Both students were selected after an in-depth and rigorous audition process. The All-State Jazz Band will perform at Casper College on February 5 as part of the Casper College Jazz Festival while the All-State Choir will perform March 20 at Powell High School as part of the Northwest College Jazz Festival.

The Wyoming Cowboy football team will have one more practice before Saturday’s spring game.  The major focus this spring, at least for the offensive line, is to be more physical and deliver the blows.  As offensive line coach Scott Fuchs tells the unit, “be the hammer, not the nail”.  That’s a difference in philosophy between […]
  • Find some new places to fish - April 16, 2014
Instead of fishing the same old places this spring, do something different. Find a new honey hole. You don’t have to go to the same place every time you go fishing. When you find a good spot to fish, it’s nice to know you can go back there and catch fish. But if your honey […]
