A diorama of the Town of Jackson will highlight the visitor information area of the Home Ranch welcome center as that area is developed in time for the coming summer tourist season.  Jackson Mayor Mark Barron says the objective of the display is to influence the traveling public to leave their cars parked in the lot and explore the community on foot or on a bike.  Barron says the area will have some western rodeo scenes and other western scenes visible both inside and outside the center.  There will also be a three-D model of the town of Jackson and its surrounding mountains to provide an orientation to the area. Barron says there will also be displays that depict the culture of the Town of Jackson.  The project and bids to install it were discussed during a council workshop Wednesday.  Barron says for now, the information center is to be self-service with no need for personnel to be on hand to answer questions.
