Jackson PD To Keep Revels Orderly
Jackson Police are ready for tonight’s revels with additional patrols available to help residents and visitors ring in the new year safely. Lieutenant Cole Nethercott reminds those celebrating that there are safe alternatives that should be considered for the end of the evening. Nethercott says there are several including taxi companies, START Bus if you’re not out too late, of having a designated driver. Nethercott says in Jackson, infractions are almost exclusively tied to alcohol consumption and New Year’s Eve is not a big crime night as far as people being assaulted and what-not. Nethercott says Jackson is known as a party town somewhat and it is a resort community where people come to ski and have a good time over the holiday. Still, he says they can get carried away at times and that’s when the police department steps in to keep things orderly. Nethercott says the police will also be out working on underage drinking enforcement on New Year’s Eve.
