Pedigree Donates Dogfood To IPSSSDR Towns
Pedigree® Food for Dogs, the annual sponsor of the International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race will again provide support for shelters in participating stage stop towns in the form of a year’s worth of food for one dog. This year’s IPSSSDR, the 18th running of the largest sled dog race in the lower 48 states, is slated for January 25th through February 2nd and will include donations to animal shelters in Jackson, Alpine, Pinedale, Lander, Big Piney/Marbleton, Kemmerer, and Evanston in Wyoming, as well as West Yellowstone, Montana. Race Organizer Frank Teasley says for many of these small shelters, the extra help makes a big difference. Opening in Jackson on January 25th, the IPSSSDR begins at the Town Square with pre-race festivities, and the official race start with a run through the town’s streets to finish at Snow King with a torchlight parade and fireworks display. The race then continues for another eight days, traveling through parts of Montana, Idaho, Utah, and Wyoming before finishing with an awards banquet in Evanston, Wyoming on February 2nd.
