Recycler Sought For Junk Mail
Ever wonder what happens to all that junk mail that ends up in bins at the local post office? Some people call them “fire starters,” but Teton County’s Integrated Solid Waste and Recycling Center is seeking a Contractor to collect and remove all mail-related paper recyclables that have been deposited in the recycle bins at the post offices in Jackson, Teton Village, and Wilson to properly recycle the circulars and unwanted materials. Services required include the collection of paper recyclables generated at the post offices, and delivery of the materials to the Teton County Recycling Center. County officials say the total tonnage collected from the three post offices averages 145 tons annually. Utilizing the current collection system and bins, the materials are collected once-daily five to six days per week throughout the year. During the busy holiday season, there is a four to six week period of twice-daily collection seven day per week. Collection is necessary throughout the week, including holidays and Sundays when the post offices are closed. Anyone interested is to submit a proposal by noon, January 25th.
