Flu Shots Urged
Even as the nation and the state are anticipating a rough year for influenza, the incidence of cases in Teton County has not really been out of the ordinary. Still, says Teton County’s Public Health Response Coordinator Tammy Marshall, the number of cases here has started picking up and those who have not yet gotten a flu shot should probably have themselves inoculated. Marshall says the activity is not expected to peak here until late-January or mid-February, so it is definitely not too late to get a shot. Marshall voices the familiar precautions during flu season: wash your hands frequently throughout the day, avoid crowds when possible, try to keep your hands away from your face since your hands come into contact with multiple surfaces that may be contaminated, and cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze.
