Intermountain Region Has New Chief
The Intermountain Region of the US Forest Service has a new Regional Forester to replace Harv Forsgren who retired from that post on January 1st. In a letter from Forest Service Chief Thomas Tidwell Friday, Nora Rasure was named to the post which supervises 13 forests in five western states. Rasure has held posts as Acting Regional Forester for the Eastern Region, Deputy Regional Forester for the Pacific Northwest Region in Portland, Oregon, and Acting Deputy Regional Forester in the Rocky Mountain Region. She has also served as a Forest Supervisor for several national forests in the western US. Rasure assumes her post effective January 13th.
