Some major changes have been announced for the annual Music in the Hole event held on Independence Day in Jackson Hole.  In a news release issued Wednesday night, Managing Director of Artistic Operations Steve Friedlander said the new concept will feature the Festival Orchestra performing on the stage of Walk Festival Hall before a Wyoming PBS TV audience with the performance also being beamed to jumbo-trons at the base of Snow King Mountain and in the Commons of Teton Village.  The performance is also to be made available to PBS stations in neighboring states as well as throughout Wyoming.  Then, between the orchestra concert and the fireworks, popular music groups like the Young Dubliners will perform live on stages at Snow King and the Village Commons.  Music in the Hole Committee Chairman Jim Wunsch says the Music Festival is grateful for the enthusiasm with which the new concept is being received.  Wunsch says it is the objective of the committee to make Jackson Hole’s musical celebration of the national holiday truly spectacular.
