SAR Team Evacuates Skier
Teton County Search and Rescue was called Wednesday to assist a group from the National Outdoor Leadership School in evacuating a skier who had fallen and injured his leg. Search and Rescue Coordinator Doug Meyer says the group was on an outing in Sherman Canyon when the accident occurred late Tuesday. He says the group originally had intended to transport the hurt skier to the trailhead and a waiting vehicle themselves, but determined the effort was too difficult. About mid-day Wednesday, they called the search and rescue team to have the skier picked up by helicopter and taken to the trailhead. From there, Meyer says the group provided their own transportation to the hospital.
