Local Skiers Compete At Soldier Hollow
The Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club’s Nordic Program raced in the second Intermountain Junior National Qualifier at the Soldier Hollow Super Qualifier in Soldier Hollow, Utah this past weekend. This event is one of the biggest Nordic Ski races in the country, bringing in almost 620 skiers from all across the Western US. There were five different Divisions represented this past weekend, including: Intermountain, High Plains, Rocky Mountain, Pacific Northwest and Far West. With extremely stiff competition, participants showed well. Current rankings after the race included Riis Wilbrecht in 17th, Eric Brecheen in 23rd, Wildton Springer in 25th and Chris Watters in 30th for J1 and OJ Boys; Luna Wasson in 13th, Sara McCandless in 17th, and Charlotte Pierce in 22nd for J1 and OJ Girls; Max Polito in 18th and Bjorn Schou in 23rd for J2 Boys; and Reily Gibson in 4th, Mariah Bredal in 5th and Sydney Wiswell in 10th for J2 Girls.
