Idaho To Enforce Seatbelt Law
Planning to drive around Idaho in the week ahead? The Idaho Transportation Department is partnering with the Idaho State Police and other law enforcement agencies across Idaho to fund high visibility seat belt patrols February 8th – 17th. During the campaign, officers will increase enforcement of traffic laws and cite those drivers or occupants who are not seat belted. The State Police agency says during 2011, 21% of Idahoans who did not wear their seatbelts accounted for approximately 46% of all traffic fatalities. Their estimates state that 40 lives lost during that year could have been saved had seatbelts been in use.
