Airport Business Up Appreciably
January appears to have been a good month for air travel in Jackson Hole. According to the monthly report from the administration to the airport board, there was a 17% increase in the number of people taking flights out of the valley over the same month last year and a 15% increase in those arriving. Those increases more than make up for the loss in air travel business last January from January of 2011. Meanwhile, the report goes on that the number of flights in and out of the airport increased during the month by 6% over the previous year. Specifically, Jackson Hole Airport saw 24,299 people fly out of the valley last month and 19,672 arrive. During the month, the airport was served with flights from four major carriers and one commuter airline.
