Happy Valentine’s Day
Guys, lest you forget – today is Valentine’s Day. Before the day is over, over 180-million valentine cards will be exchanged, more than 36-million special people receive heart-shaped boxes of chocolates, and about 180-million roses will find their ways into the hands of countless sweethearts. For what it is worth, ladies, a national survey indicates that 61% of the men contacted said they would also like to receive flowers for Valentine’s Day from their sweetheart. A special, tender day to be sure – and to think it commemorates St. Valentine: the Roman priest who was clubbed to death on this date in 269 for defying the Emperor Claudius after he is said to have performed clandestine Christian weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry. Now your fate may be somewhat less severe if you forget to mark the holiday, it might be a good idea to have something special up your sleeve before the day’s end so that the outcome is a bit more pleasant.
