US Chooses New President
Oklahoma State University Provost Robert Sternberg has been appointed the next president of the University of Wyoming, replacing retiring President Tom Buchanan. The UW board of trustees unanimously approved Dr. Sternberg’s hiring as the university’s 24th president on Tuesday. Governor Matt Mead welcomed the announcement saying he looks forward to meeting Sternberg and working with him to assure UW continues to be a great resource for all its students. In a news release from UW, Sternberg is quoted as saying, “Of all the places in the country, Wyoming is the one where my wife and I most wanted to go.” Sternberg assumes his post on July 1st, according to the UW release.
