The looming sequester is expected to spell curtailments of government services and even some closures of facilities – including airport control towers in the region.  At this time, the control towers listed do not include Jackson Hole Airport which continuesas the busiest airport in the state and leads other regional airports in scheduled traffic.  However, airports who will find themselves not as fortunate should the sequester take effect include Idaho Falls, Pocatello and Jerry Olson Field in Cheyenne.  The full effect of a sequestration on Forest and Park here have yet to be determined.  Meanwhile, Former US Senator for Wyoming Alan Simpson cautions the sequester is, in his words, “the mindless cutting of security and non-security with an ax, which is goofy – you can’t let that happen .”
