Six JHHS Students Qualify For National Speech Competition

The Jackson Hole High School Speech and Debate Team enjoyed record-breaking success this past weekend at the National Forensic League District Tournament held Friday and Saturday at Riverton High School. The meet was attended by 21 schools.  Senior Gretchen Palmquist and juniors Billy Frank, Bryan Checker, Jake Ethington, Hannah Collins and Natalie Palmquist qualified to represent the Wind River NFL District this June in Birmingham, Alabama to for the National Tournament. This is the first trip to Nationals for each of the six qualifiers, and it is the largest number of students to qualify in the team’s history.  This marks the fifteenth consecutive year the team has qualified students for the national meet. Jackson next travels to compete at the Wyoming State Meet, to be held in Rock Springs on March 14-16.
