WHP Steps Up St. Patrick’s Day Patrols
As St. Patrick’s Day approaches, The Wyoming Highway Patrol is reminding drivers not to get behind the wheel if they’ve been drinking. Lieutenant Tom Kelly of the Jackson WHP office says whether you are gathering with friends at the local pub or attending the big party, if the traditional green beer is part of the festivities, make sure you designate a sober driver to get you home safely. He says it traditionally a day that is celebrated with alcohol, and with that in mind, the highway patrol and other traffic enforcement agencies across the state will be stepping up their enforcement and looking for impaired drivers over the holiday weekend. Kelly says the Wyoming Highway Patrol will have extra Troopers on patrol statewide throughout the St. Patrick’s Day Weekend looking for impaired drivers. Kelly adds that anyone who observes a driver that appears to be driving impaired should call the patrol at 1-800-442-9090.
