Jackson Speech Team State Champs Again
The Jackson Hole High School Speech and Debate Team are the state champions once again after this weekend’s statewide meet at Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs. Jackson was the 2012 defending 3A champions. Completing back-to-back undefeated seasons to win the title, Jackson led the 3A schools with 32 sweepstakes points, while Powell and Star Valley who tied for second, came in with 23 each. Altogether, the state meet pitted the talents of 353 competitors from 33 schools. Seven Jackson team members now begin their preparation for the National Forensic League National Tournament in Birmingham, Alabama in June.
