Broadway Construction Begins Today

construction

The Wyoming Department of Transportation Jackson Streets Project begins today, being conducted by Evans Construction Company of Jackson.  The $5 ¾-million project involves reconstruction of the 5-lane roadway on 1/3 mile of US 89 on West Broadway between the Flat Creek Bridge and the Flat Creek/Pearl intersection.  Work will include milling, paving and curb and gutter work as well as water and sewer upgrades for the Town of Jackson. The construction will be compressed into a short, one season schedule and will include a short break in July to mid-August in order to limit traffic disruption during the peak tourist season. During construction, WYDOT officials say traffic will be reduced to two lanes, one each direction. Left turns will be prohibited in the construction zone.  There will be alternative closures of Pearl Street and Flat Creek. The project is to be completed by November 30.
