New Fishing Access Road Near Alpine

Fishermen will have to find a new way to their favorite fishing hole on the Salt River now that the old access road has been closed.  The Perkes Public Access Area, located along the Salt River five miles south of Alpine is now reached via a new route replacing the former access to the area, Fisherman’s Access road directly west off state Route 89, which is no longer a public road. The Perkes Public Access Area will now be accessed by taking Creamery Lane, nine miles south of Alpine, off state Route 89 west to Stateline Road. The Perkes Public Access Area is then three miles north on Stateline Road. Signs direct traffic to the public access area.
