Congress Members Seek Wolf Delisting

All three members of the Wyoming Delegation have joined with other western legislators in sending a letter to the US Fish and Wildlife chief Dan Ashe, encouraging the delisting of the wolf nationwide.  The letter, signed by a total of 59 representatives and 13 senators, tells Ashe of their support for the move and their regret that decisions to delist the animal in specific areas of the country have been met with lawsuits from environmental activists.    The letter states, “Wolves are not an endangered species and do not merit federal protections.”   The letter points out that wolves have been devastating to livestock and indigenous wildlife while state wildlife officials have their hands tied anytime wolves are involved.  The letter was sent to Ashe last Friday.
