Pole Pedal Paddle This Weekend

PPP

This is the weekend hundreds of area residents dress up in crazy costumes and participate in the 38th annual rite of spring called The Pole Pedal Paddle. It’s a tradition in Jackson Hole, held on the 2nd to last Saturday of skiing at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. The four-event race, where contestants compete either individually or in teams, consists of an alpine ski leg, a cross-country ski leg, a bicycle leg, and a boating leg.  When it was established in 1975, Pole Pedal Paddle founder Harry Baxter considered the PPP to be just a playful end to a winter at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. The Pole Pedal Paddle is now a major fundraising event for the Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club which seeks to provide affordable Alpine, Freeride, Nordic and Snowboard programs to Jackson youth. The event begins from the slopes of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort at 7:00 am and concludes with a whitewater leg in the Snake River Canyon in the early afternoon.

Don’t just let that bow sit in the closet or out in the garage all summer. Dust off the case, take the bow out and get some practice. There are dozens of archery ranges around the state where you can practice shooting in the off season. If you don’t know where the one closest to […]
