Bus Service Planned Between Jackson & Riverton

Linx

The Linx transportation cooperative has announced it will inaugurate a Wind River Connection of the regional Linx service, known as the “Purple Line,” which will run between Riverton and Jackson three times each week beginning June 4th. The Wind River Transportation Authority, WRTA, joined the four-state cooperative this year, closing a gap in service from Fremont County into the Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Park area. The Purple Line will start in Riverton with stops at the Wind River Casino, The NOLS Noble in Lander, Rocky Mountain Hall at Fort Washakie, Lamb Park in Dubois, Moran Junction, the Moose Visitor Center in Grand Teton National Park, the Jackson Hole Airport and terminate in the town of Jackson. The bus returns to Riverton following the same schedule in reverse 4 ½ hours later. Fares for the Purple Line are $25 per leg: one leg between Riverton and Dubois, a second leg between Dubois and Jackson. A round trip between Riverton and Jackson would cost $100.

In my opinion, everybody should go hunting each weekend of the hunting season. You don’t have to go after elk or deer every time. Change it up a little. Hunt doves on the first weekend, then try to get a blue grouse or two the next. Later in the fall, you can start working duck […]

The Wyoming Cowboys open up their football season at home against Montana tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon in Laramie.  It’s the first meeting between the two schools since 1997, and the Grizzlies enter the game as the fifth-ranked team in the FCS. On defense, the Cowboys top priority is to stop the run.  With a talented quarterback […]
  • Warmer Temperatures With Isolated Thunderstorms Expected Today - August 29, 2014
A weak ridge of high pressure will build over the region today, which will allow temperatures to become warmer and closer to average statewide.  However, some lingering low-level moisture and daytime heating could trigger a few hit or miss thunderstorms for the afternoon and early evening hours.  Gusty winds and lots of lightning will be […]

At the risk of sounding like I’ve been watching too much Top Gear, I need to go off on a bit of a rant right now. The good folks at Nissan let me drive a Titan for two full months, which was really nice of them. And it’s done a pretty good job of filling […]
