As a recent country song professed, rain is a good thing – especially in what has been shaping up to be a drought year. The National Weather Service office in Riverton has revealed that Teton County has received close to an inch of rain during the past storm cycle and Yellowstone has received up to an inch and a half in some parts of the park. Officials point out that that bodes well for the upcoming fire season. Meanwhile, what fell as rain here fell as snow in Colorado, and some ski areas there – including the top of Aspen Mountain – are reopening for the Memorial Day Weekend. In southeastern Wyoming, snow delayed the planned opening of US 14-A through the Big Horn Mountains.
