This weekend marks the official beginning of Jackson Hole’s summer tourist season.  As such, life will change slightly for local residents with the influx of hundreds of thousands of visitors.  Sergeant Cole Nethercott of the Jackson Police Department saysthe watch word needs to be patience.  He says there will be an increase in traffic, and with that, an increase in drivers who have never been here before and don’t always know where they’re going.  Those of who live here, he says, sometimes get in a hurry to be places sometimes.  Says Nethercott:  “The best prevention of accidents often times at this time of year is to just slow down.”  This year, even more patience and vigilance will be needed along Broadway near the intersection with Flat Creek due to traffic being limited to a single lane each direction which is causing a significant bottleneck through that area.

But you’d be wrong. The last total lunar eclipse visible in Wyoming was way back in 2009, if I’m not mistaken. So I’ve been looking […]

  • Back to normal at the trap range - April 17, 2014
By some strange luck, I shot really well last week in our trap league. But last night, I didn’t do so well. Not even close. The thing about shooting trap is that you’re bound to have good rounds once in a while. Those good nights give you hope that you’re improving. For some people, that […]
