Park To Close, Repair Pilgrim Creek Road

Pilgrim Creek

Grand Teton National Park has announced that Pilgrim Creek Road will be closed to all public access today through Friday while a contractor is hauling and staging gravel along the road. The project will continue in early July, when the road will be re-graveled with approximately 4.5 inches of new gravel. Park officials explain that during spring runoff the road gets washed out, degrading conditions over time. Park visitors are advised to plan ahead if they intend to travel on the Pilgrim Creek Road during the time work is taking place. During periods of closure, the road will be barricaded near where the road begins. Despite the closure, park officials stress that parking will not be permitted between the main park road and those marked barricades.
