Movie Company Seeks Actors

Mahjong

Jackson Hole is to be the site of a Wyoming-produced feature film through July and August entitled “Mahjong and the West.”  Producer Alyssa Carpenter says the production will require a variety of local actors for supporting roles and extras.  To that end, she says the movie company is issuing a casting call Sunday and Monday for local actors of all ages – especially men aged 20 to 35, men and women aged 40 to 80, men and women of Chinese decent aged 40 to 80 and two female children aged nine to 12. The director of the show is Joe Muszynski who also produced “Peace, Love and Misunderstanding,” the story about an uptight New York City lawyer who takes her teenage son and daughter to visit their free-spirited grandmother on an upstate farm.  “Mahjong and the West” is a story about a woman in her 20s who runs a New York interior design firm with her mother and returns to Wyoming for the first time since her childhood due to a family event. Information about the casting effort is available online at MahjongAndTheWest@gmail.com.

U.S. Senator Mike Enzi opened his official campaign headquarters in Cheyenne on Wednesday. Wyoming’s senior senator is seeking his fourth term in the Senate. There were rumors last year that Enzi would retire at the end of his current term and he admits it is something he thought about. “Anytime anybody’s getting ready to go […]
  • Back to normal at the trap range - April 17, 2014
By some strange luck, I shot really well last week in our trap league. But last night, I didn’t do so well. Not even close. The thing about shooting trap is that you’re bound to have good rounds once in a while. Those good nights give you hope that you’re improving. For some people, that […]
  • Cowboy O-Line Being Told To Be the Hammer, Not the Nail [AUDIO] - April 16, 2014
The Wyoming Cowboy football team will have one more practice before Saturday’s spring game.  The major focus this spring, at least for the offensive line, is to be more physical and deliver the blows.  As offensive line coach Scott Fuchs tells the unit, “be the hammer, not the nail”.  That’s a difference in philosophy between […]
