Park Closes Road For A Second Week

Pilgrim Creek

Construction crews on the Pilgrim Creek Road did not get everything done they wanted to this week. Consequently, the temporary closure of the road will be extended while the contractor hauls and stages gravel along the length of this unpaved road in preparation for an improvement project in July. The road will be open to public access over the weekend, but will close again from Monday through Friday to all access—including pedestrians—for safety concerns due to movement of heavy trucks. Park road crews will use the stockpiled gravel in July to resurface the road which becomes rough over time with spring runoff.
