Cyclists Help With Adaptive Equipment

Journey of Hope

A team of cyclists participating in the Journey of Hope, presented by KRG Capital, arrived in Jackson Saturday as part of a nine-week, 4,000-mile cycling event across the country to raise funds and awareness for people with disabilities. Spokesman Josh Sasek says the team spent the night at the Presbyterian Church – then traveled Sunday to String Lake to help with adaptive equipment and participating in various activities including canoeing on the Teton River with the Teton Adaptive Sports team.  Three teams from the Journey of Hope are to spend over two months cycling an average of 75 miles a day from city to city visiting with people and organizations that help people with disabilities. The Journey of Hope is a program of Push America, the national philanthropy of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, which raises funds and awareness for people with disabilities.

  • Don’t lose your vision in the woods - October 21, 2014
I don’t have good eyes. Had I been born a hundred years ago, there would have been no help for me. Glasses can’t help me, so I’d have blind. I have to wear a special kind of contact lens, which wasn’t available in the days of Davey Crockett and Daniel Boone. But through the miracle […]
  • Hunters must be conservationists first - October 20, 2014
As hunters, it’s our responsibility to take care of the critters we hunt, as well as those we don’t. We have to obey the game laws. Police ourselves to be sure others respect the wildlife. And even offer suggestions to the Game and Fish Commission when we think there are better ways to ensure that […]
