A Wyoming man is recovering after an attack Thursday morning by what is believed to have been a grizzly sow south of Cody, Wyoming. Wyoming Game and Fish Department regional wildlife supervisor Alan Osterland says the man was working in an irrigation ditch along Southfork Road when the female bear attacked him. 63 year-old Nic Patrick is recovering from injuries sustained during the attack, including severe facial lacerations although Patrick’s injuries did not immediately appear to be life-threatening. Osterland says Patrick’s dog first contacted the bear, provoking a protective response from the female grizzly, which had two cubs with her at the time.  Osterland says under those circumstances, Game and Fish has not yet determined how to deal with the bear.  Osterland says the man apparently managed to make it home after the attack.

  • Back to normal at the trap range - April 17, 2014
By some strange luck, I shot really well last week in our trap league. But last night, I didn’t do so well. Not even close. The thing about shooting trap is that you’re bound to have good rounds once in a while. Those good nights give you hope that you’re improving. For some people, that […]
  • Cowboy O-Line Being Told To Be the Hammer, Not the Nail [AUDIO] - April 16, 2014
The Wyoming Cowboy football team will have one more practice before Saturday’s spring game.  The major focus this spring, at least for the offensive line, is to be more physical and deliver the blows.  As offensive line coach Scott Fuchs tells the unit, “be the hammer, not the nail”.  That’s a difference in philosophy between […]
