SLIB Provides Money For Snow King Project

June 24, 2013 Jackson Hole, State of Wyoming, Town of Jackson No Comments
money

Jackson last week was granted part of a $1.5 million Business Committed Grant it had requested for the Snow King Mountain Resort. The Wyoming State Loan and Investment Board instead approved a $500,000 Community Enhancement grant and a $1 million Community Enhancement loan with a 1/2% interest rate for improvements to snow-making and other infrastructure.  SLIB members made their decision based on recommendations from the state business council that the grant amount be trimmed since the project would primarily create seasonal jobs.  The SLIB is made up of the five statewide elected officials: Gov. Matt Mead, Secretary of State Max Maxfield, State Treasurer Mark Gordon, State Auditor Cynthia Cloud, and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Cindy Hill.

  • Pelts are nearing prime conditions - November 26, 2014
The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer. It’s the amount of daylight, and not the temperature, that causes wild animals to grow longer, thicker coats. If you’re a predator hunter or a trapper, that’s your cue. The pelts are coming into their prime right now, but that doesn’t mean they’re at […]

Light to moderate snow shower activity will also be increasing […]
  • Tame that recoil - November 25, 2014
You don’t have to put up with nasty recoil when you’re hunting. Even if you’re hunting our state’s bigger animals, like elk, moose, or even bison, today’s technology can take a lot of the sting out of your hunting rifle. A friend told me he developed a bad flinch while sighting in his .300 Win […]
