Airport Parking Reconfigured

airport parking

Those traveling to the airport in the last week may have noticed a shift in the organization of parking spaces.  Rather than the public parking their cars on the northern end of the lot as they have in years passed, the lot now permits the public to park closest to the road in and out of the airport while rental cars have been shifted to those spaces immediately in front of the terminal building.  A few short-term spaces with a two-hour limit have been specified on the extreme northern end of the parking lot for dropping off or meeting passengers and some handicapped spaces have been allocated there as well.  Airport Manager Ray Bishop says the changes will be in place for the duration of construction on the new baggage claim facility, and are intended to reduce passenger cross traffic in vehicle lanes.
