Reservoirs in the Snake River Basin continue to drain to startlingly low levels. The boat ramp at Colter Bay Marina has already become unusable as the level of Jackson Lake continues to drop. Bureau of Reclamation statistics indicate it is now at 61% of its capacity. Farther downstream, however, Palisades Reservoir is no a paltry 22% of its capacity and American Falls Reservoir in southern Idaho is at 24%. Altogether, Bureau of Reclamation statistics show the available water in the Upper Snake River Basin collectively is now a mere 35% of capacity as the irrigation of southern Idaho crops continues.
