Is the Town of Jackson one of the best towns in America to visit?  It has been proposed as one of six Wyoming communities in the running in Rand McNally’s 2013 Best of the Road contest, and are looking for votes. Centennial, Cody, Jackson, Laramie, Lovell, and Sheridan have been nominated in the travel publication’s 2013 Best Small Towns contest. Individuals can cast their votes for the community of their choice among six categories: most beautiful, most fun, friendliest, most patriotic, best food, and best for geocaching. As of August first, Centennial had received two votes in the “Most Fun” category, Cody received two votes in the “Friendliest” category, Jackson received eight votes in the “Most Beautiful” category, Laramie received one vote in the “Most Fun” category, Lovell received one vote in the “Friendliest” category, and Sheridan received two votes respectively in the “Most Beautiful” and “Most Fun” categories. Finalists will be judged on the number of votes received on bestoftheroad.com; overall fit and suitability of the town in the selected category; the town’s social participation on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and; video tour or photo tour plus written submissions by the 30 town finalists.

If you’re a predator hunter or a trapper, that’s your cue. The pelts are coming into their prime right now, but that doesn’t mean they’re at […]
  • Very Windy in Many Areas, Developing Light to Moderate Snow - November 25, 2014
The I-25 and I-80 corridors and adjacent roads throughout central, eastern and southern Wyoming will see very strong and gusty winds today.  Sustained winds of 25 to 40 mph likely for many areas with gusts to 60 mph or higher in the wind prone locations. Light to moderate snow shower activity will also be increasing […]
