Visitation Up In Grand Teton National Park

GTNP Entrance

Grand Teton National Park has been busier this summer than it has been over the past summer or two.  According to the monthly report from the National Park Service Visitor Use Statistics office, recreational visitation increased in Grand Teton by over 5% compared with the same month in 2012.  Due to a nominal drop in business traffic in the park, total visits were slightly lower showing a 3.8% increase.   Year-to-date, Grand Teton National Park visits are up over 11%.  Meanwhile, Yellowstone National Park has revised the way they count their visitations this year making comparison difficult.  Still, comparing the number of vehicles entering the park, there has been a 4.3% increase in that park over the same month a year ago.

  • A lunar eclipse, and me without my camera - April 18, 2014
Monday night, or more accurately early Tuesday morning, there was a total lunar eclipse. And being the experienced nature photographer I am, you’d think I was ready with my camera. But you’d be wrong. The last total lunar eclipse visible in Wyoming was way back in 2009, if I’m not mistaken. So I’ve been looking […]
