Air Transportation Committee Recommends Expansion

Delta at Airport

Considering the success of the air service enhancement program in Wyoming, the Air Transportation Liaison Committee meeting in Jackson this week recommended that the funds used to guarantee air service again be reallocated.  State Representative Keith Gingery who serves on the committee says it was also suggested the program be expanded to other Wyoming communities.  The group specifically discussed Gillette, Rock Springs and Cody.  Considering how successful the program has been in Jackson, Gingery says “we want to do everything we can to help those other communities; and to lend any of our expertise that we’ve gained over the years doing minimum guarantee contracts.” Gingery points out that one of the attractions of the program is that the money is used to guarantee the service, and so is not actually spent when the airlines achieve the set goals.
