Wyoming Congresswoman Cynthia Lummis is hosting a Natural Resources Committee hearing in Casper today. Lummis says during the official committee field hearing, there will be vital discussions of challenges to the endangered species act. Lummis says they are trying to pull together people to talk about what the problems are with the ESA. Among them, she says is the fact that only one percent of the species that have been listed have actually been recovered and delisted. Lummis says, “That tells you that that program has problems, and we need to make some changes there.” The lawmakers are listening to testimony from a range of Wyoming residents who have been affected by decisions made at the federal level regarding wildlife management and habitat protection.
