Crews have been briefed this morning and will continue to flank and secure the perimeter of the Tennerite Fire south of Pinedale, focusing on structure protection.
A Western Wyoming Type 3 Incident Management Team will shadow the current management today and assume command either tonight or in the morning. The IC will fly the fire today to assess fire status and get more accurate size.
Yesterday, the fire received multiple retardant drops from the single engine air tankers as well as a DC10 air tanker to protect structures on the Elk feed grounds near Burnt Lake and the private residences near Boulder Lake.
A group of smokejumpers out of Pocatello were dropped on the fire to assist current ground resources. Air attack estimated the fire to be approximately 500 acres. Red Cross closed the evacuation center in Pinedale last night when none of the evacuees showed up. The Tennerite Fire was ignited from people shooting at exploding targets in the area.
