A Loveland, Colorado couple was killed when their single-engine private plane crashed shortly after noon at Jackson Hole Airport, virtually disintegrating on impact.  67 year-old Russell Kamtz and his 65 year-old wife Carol died when their small, experimental aircraft unexpectedly nose-dived to the ground on the western perimeter of the airport.  They are survived by two adult children.  Grand Teton National Park Spokesperson Jackie Skaggs describes the plane as

an experimental, low-wing RV7 aircraft.  Details of the crash are still under investigation. The crash site was located west of the airport’s single runway, near Spring Gulch Road.  Units from the airport, Jackson Hole Fire/EMS and Grand Teton National Park responded to the crash, but there was no fire.  Jackson Hole Airport is located within Grand Teton National Park.
