prescribed_fire

The Teton Interagency fire managers are getting ready to conduct six different prescribed fires this fall, weather permitting.  Those fires includeone just northwest of Moran, two in the Buffalo Valley area, one near Bryan Flats above Hoback Junction, one south of Alpine, and one near Daniel Junction.  Fire officials say the projects will proceed when favorable weather and fire behavior conditions exist.  Smoke may be visible the day of the burn and several days afterward.  The fires are intended to improve habitat in these areas and reduce hazardous fuels to provide better conditions for fire suppression in these areas if necessary.
