The Jackson Town Council Monday approved the granting of 1.65-million dollars to the Jackson Hole Housing Trust for the purchase of land for affordable housing.  Mayor Mark Barron says the decision was made on a split vote of the council.  He says the grant virtually cleans out the town’s reserves for employee affordable housing, but is an effort to forge a partnership that will yield six AR lots in east Jackson and result in a project worth $6.69-million.  The housing project is located at the corner of Hall and Redmond Streets.  The Housing Trust is to construct 18 rental units on the property with the rents derived from the project to be used for the operation and maintenance of the project and seed money for new opportunities.
