Employment

Teton County last month was again numbered among the three counties where the highest percentage of the work force was employed.  According to the state Department of Workforce Services, Sublette County took top honors with only 3% of its workers idle, followed by Teton and Converse Counties tied at 3.1%.  Statewide, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.6%, compared with 5.4% last year and a current national jobless rate of 7.3%.  Of course helping to drive Teton County’s excellent employment climate was the busy tourist season with lodging, food service and recreation industries operating at their peaks.
