Northwest Wyoming got a sample of winter yesterday with roads in Yellowstone National Park and the Beartooth Highway outside being closed due to winter conditions. Dunraven Pass and Beartooth Highway are scheduled to close for the season October 10th. Meanwhile, snow tires were advised for travel over Craig Pass and Sylvan Pass as well as the portion of the Grand Loop Road from Canyon to Fishing Bridge. Park officials point out that this is the time of year that road conditions can change quickly and park visitors need to be prepared to seek alternate routes or make alternate arrangements. Restrictions were also placed on Teton Pass last night prohibiting trailer traffic because of slippery conditions.
