Early snowstorms have caused no small amount of headaches for drivers on northwestern Wyoming’s roads. Not the least of them was the closure of US 26 over Togwotee Pass Wednesday when a tractor-trailer carrying pipes jackknifed about 9:30 am. The road remained closed for approximately six hours. It required two heavy-duty wreckers to pull the truck back onto the roadway, but not before other vehicles including one highway patrol cruiser became stuck in the wet snow there. The National Weather Service says 11 inches of snow had fallen by Wednesday afternoon on Togwotee Pass. Snows also prompted travel restrictions on Teton Pass where trailers were prohibited for hours at a time Wednesday and Thursday.
